Obituary-Enedina Quintana

Enedina (Nettie) Quintana went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2011. She was born on July 11, 1935, in North La Veta to Telesfora Cruz Pacheco and Armenio Pacheco. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Naborsita Vigil, Olivia Aragon, Sally Valdez, Katie Sanchez, Millie Valdez and Sarah Montoya; brothers Ernie Pacheco, Evan Pacheco and Claude Pacheco. She married Eppy Quintana on February 22, 1969. She is survived by her children Ron Pacheco, Marvin (Annette) Quintana, Darvin (Lisa) Quintana and Dean (Toni) Quintana. Also survived by her brother Oris (Elise) Pacheco; Lucy Sanchez; and her step-children Shirley Quintana, Theresa Quintana and Larry Quintana. She has 14 grandchildren: Ivan (Danielle) Pacheco, Brian (Erica) Pacheco, Rena (Phil) Gonzales, Ronnie Pacheco, Abby Pacheco, Desiree, Devon and Donathan Quintana, Destiny Quintana, William Quintana, Aaron Quintana, Marcelino Quintana, Sheldon Mondragon and Kevin Mondragon. She had 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nettie was a long time resident of Huerfano County, an active member of the Apostolic Church and was known throughout the county as the tamale lady. She worked at the Walsenburg Nursing Home for over 30 years until she retired in 2005. She touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. The celebration of her life began on June 29th, 2011 at 7:00 pm with a wake at the Apostolic Church on 711 West 2nd Street in Walsenburg. On June 30, 2011 the funeral services will be held at the Apostolic Church at 10 am.
