Elva Katherine (Ferkovich) Sabec, 96, Denver, CO, passed away peacefully at Exempla Colorado Lutheran Home in Arvada, CO on March 23, 2013. She was born on July 17, 1916 in Walsenburg, CO to Philip and Josefine (Grbac) Ferkovich.
On April 17, 1938, she married Frank Sabec in Walsenburg, CO, and moved to Denver. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1971. She also was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Edward, Leonard, and Philip Jr. (Buddy) Ferkovich.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (David) Olson of Arvada and Phylllis (Thomas) Widhalm of Lakewood; her four grandchildren, Michele (Steve) Najar of Arizona, David (Katrina) Olson Jr. of Arvada, Michael (Melanie) Widhalm of Castle Rock, and Laura (Steve) Kirby of Arvada; eight great-grandchildren, Gary Najar, Serena and Dionicio Olson, Cooper and Griffin Widhalm, and Dominic, Brynlee and Boden Kirby; and one great-great-grand child, Tanner Kirby.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Archdioese of Denver Mortuary Mount Olivet Cemetery at 10:30 am, followed by a Rosary, Funeral Mass and graveside blessing.
