Elsie Block, mother of La Veta resident Joyce Bestol passed away March 24, 2012.
Elsie was born to Benjamin and Anna Buller, the second of seven children, and spent her childhood in Henderson, Nebraska. She married John J. Block on May 26, 1946, and the couple raised their family in Fairmont, NE.
Elsie is survived by her sons Jerry (Dixie) of Beaver Crossing, NE, Joe (Connie) of Hampton, NE, John of Lucas, TX, daughters Janet (Tom) Zuhlke of Fairmont, NE, Julie Martin of Fairmont, NE, Joyce Bestol (Joe Mattel) of La Veta, CO; brother Abe Buller (Alice) of Henderson, NE; sisters Olga Kliewer of Henderson, NE, Frieda Noel of Boise, ID, Irene Block of Henderson, NE; two sisters-in-law; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Benny and John Buller. Interment in the Fairmont Public Cemetery.
