Obituary- Clara Peterson

Clara A. Ritersdorf Peterson

2/15/1908 – 12/30/2008

Born February 15, 1908, Bleding, Michigan to William and Emma Edgerly.  Passed away December 30, 2008 inWalsenburg, Colorado.  She was 100 years old.

    Clara Peterson leaves behind her son, Anthony Malaj and his wife Barbara.  She leaves her nephew Arthur Malaj of Rosemond, California; her niece Pat Malaj of Aurora, Colorado. She leaves her grandchildren Jonathon Malaj, Marcie Malaj, Michelle Malaj, and Francis Malaj.  Clara leaves nieces and nephews; Mary Lou and her husband Pete Lober, Marya Butler, Bob and Shirley Heftje, Barbara and Wilson Hoy.

    Many other relatives in many places will miss her, most especially, Mary Graham of Pecos, New Mexico, who was her adopted daughter.

    Locally, Clara leaves behind her dearest friends Joe and Vernice Nardine, and their daughter Pat. She leaves her friend Gerry Day, Inez Prater and many others who knew her from La Veta and Walsenburg.

    Clara Peterson came to La Veta, Colorado in 1959, and married the late August Peterson.  They lived on the ranch in Cuchara until 1982 when they moved into town and lived on 6th Street.  In 2003 she took up residence at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home.

    Clara Peterson now joins her sisters and loves in eternal life.  “It’s not good bye, it’s see you later.”
