Obituary- Charles Albert Stevenson

Charles Albert Stevenson

Charles Albert Stevenson was born in Monett, MO on July 10, 1914. He passed away on September 1, 2013.
He graduated from Depauw University in Greencastle, IN in 1935. From 1935 through 1947 he was employed by Stokely Foods in Indianapolis, IN. In 1947, he was hired by Curtis Burns Foods as chief chemist in Rochester, NY. He was a founding stockholder when it expanded to Curtis Burns, Co. in 1961.
Charles was elected to the New York Academy of Science and was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Health, London.
In 1977, he retired with his family to Huerfano County, Colorado and in 1978, he took a three month position as advisor to the canning industry in Karabaje, Turkey with the International Executive Service Corps.
In retirement he became a lay student of the Bible and was a member for the United Methodist Church of Walsenburg.
Charles is survived by his son, George Stevenson, MD; daughter, Judy Yazdi and by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be at 10:45 am Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the United Methodist Church of Walsenburg.
