William “Bill” Cerda

    William “Bill Cerda, 64, of Fountain passed away April 2, 2010 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Bill was born to the late Faustine and Filomena Cerda in Walsenburg, Colorado on July 21, 1945.  Bill was an Inspector for El Paso County DOT for 38 years.  After retirement he worked for Wilson Engineering.

    Bill is survived by:  his wife, Vicki Cerda; three daughters: Rayetta (Bob) Lantzy, Georgiann Stacey, and B.J. Cerda (Curtis) Tippey; five grandsons, Justin Robinson, Chris, Craig,  and Sean Medina, Scottie Tippey;  and

one brother-in-law, George (Ione) Glumac. 

    Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Faustine and Filomena Cerda and his sister, Viola Archuleta.

    Bill enjoyed many things in his life.  His favorite pastimes were making runs up the hill (Cripple Creek); riding his motorcycle, and taking the “dogs” (his boys) for a ride; hunting, fishing, spending time with Mom and taking drives throughout Colorado.  He also enjoyed working; whether it was for the County or for Wilson & CO, or being there to  help friends, family or a complete stranger.  He took a lot of pride in being able to be there for others.  Those who knew you will miss you and heaven will be lucky to have you. 

    A memorial service will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 at 4:00 pm at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. Hwy 85/87 in Fountain, CO.
