Alfredo Z. (Jake) Trujillo

Alfredo Z. (Jake) Trujillo, 76, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on August 21, 2013. He was born September 6, 1936 in Pueblo to the union of Jake Z. and Emelia Trujillo. He was raised in Del Carbon, Sunnyside, and Tioga coal camps before moving to Walsenburg in 1952.
He attended Walsenburg High School and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He then went on to work at the CF & I Steel Mill and retired in 1993, after 36 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Brother Larry, Brothers-in-law Fred Cordova, Anthony Martinez, Robert Vigil and Mother-in-law Freda Algien.
He is survived by Loving Wife Anita; Children Frank (Patricia) Trujillo of Walsenburg, Geri (Cary) Constantino of Maui, HI, Nadine (Michael) Diaz of Pueblo, Alfreda Trujillo of Maui, Rodney (Sabrina) Trujillo of Maui, Claudia (Jason) Gremillion of Walsenburg, Jacqueline (Matthew Moore) Trujillo of Pueblo, Jose Trujillo of Pueblo as well as by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and extended family, Robert Belarde, Cathy Martinez, Chris Belarde, Jim (Maddie) Belarde, Anthony (Diane) Belarde; Sisters Juanita (Ben) Vigil, Lorraine Cordova, Lucille Martinez, Edith Ann Trujillo; In-laws, Alice (Nick) Montoya, Vince (Joyce) Vigil, Fred (Sandy) Vigil, and by Aunts, Cousins, Godchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, camping, and riding horses. He will always be remembered for his wry sense of humor, his witty comebacks, and his special nicknames for family and friends.
You will be greatly miss by all “BIG TIME”!
Service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013. Rosary will be at 10:30 am, followed by memorial service at 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Walsenburg. Inurnment will be at North St. Mary Cemetery.
The family extends our appreciation to Dr. Valerie Borsa, Dr. Sally Fabec, the medical staff of Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, Mountain Creek Home Health, COG, and Willie ‘Brown from out of town’ Bennett.
