Alfred (Al) Maldonado

Alfred (Al) Maldonado, 84, went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 6, 2010.
Al was born June 14, 1926 in North La Veta, CO. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Ellen D. Romero. To this union five children were born. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his son David, his parents, Onesimo and Rogeria Pacheco, and Step-mother Maclovia: siblings Julian, Nick, Edward, Lillian, Sally, and Robert; in-laws, Jerry and Andrea Romero, brother-in-law Gerald Romero, and son-in-law Dwight Johnson.
Survived by his children Debbie (Dennis Larkin) Johnson, Marlene (Don) Cordova, Becky (Rick) Montanari, Daniel (Loretta) Maldonado, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of close relatives and good friends.
Al enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and working in his yard. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, and retired from CF&I after 36 years. He will be remembered for his humor and wonderful smile.

The family extends their deepest thanks to his many care givers who during his later years allowed him to remain in his home. A special thanks to Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care. At his request no viewing. Rosary service Thursday 7:00 p.m. and funeral service Friday 10:00 a.m. at Angelus Chapel, 1102 E. Evans Ave. Interment at Mt. View cemetery with military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
