Obituary Adonais Vigil, Jr

Adonias Vigil, Jr. 11-10-2015 Adonais Vigil Jr., 72, passed away peacefully November 10. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adonais Sr. and Rosarito Vigil; ten brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth (Charles) Coco, Esther (Jo) Serrano; wife Dorothy Mihanovich-Vigil; daughter Denise (Terry) Vigil-Bobian, Anthony “Vat”, Stacy, and Angelique Maldonado; son Ronnie (Geraldine) Vigil, Christine, Adam, Vanessa Vigil, and Lily Harmes. He is also survived by Jac and Paula Mihanovich, seven grandkids, and 13 great grandkids, with one on the way. Junior was born in North La Veta, Colorado, and was raised on “The Land” as he would call it, farming and ranching. He enlisted into the U.S. Army, and was very proud of being a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne 505th Infantry Heavy Artillery 2nd Division. He was preceded in death by Madeline (Sena) Vigil. Together they had two children Denise and Ronnie. He was involved with disabled veterans, as well as being a disabled veteran himself. Junior was very sociable, a true Raiders fan, enjoyed the Lotto, chess, pool, and family BBQs. He did some college, however, he was self taught and a Jack of all trades. The biggest joy were his great-grandbabies, and he loved spending time on the land with his God-sent wife, Dorothy. She took care of, and put up with, his wild antics. They enjoyed the southern Colorado culture events and lifestyle. Junior Vigil was an icon in his community, and his memory will live on. Celebration of his life will be at 11 am at the Church of God in Christ Jesus, 205 West 10th Street, Walsenburg on Saturday, November 21, 2015.
