WALSENBURG- The John Mall Lady Panthers fell to the Fowler Grizzlies 63-15 last Thursday. It looked like the Lady Cats would give them a run for their money when the Cats opened up a 4-1 lead. The Grizzlies came back with a 9-0 run, extended their lead 12-8 after the first and never looked back. The Grizzlies executed a full-court press, forcing turnovers and converting them into points. Mistakes and fatigue contributed to the Panther loss. As in previous contests, the Lady Panthers fought to the very end. Grizzly Coach Becky Hershey showed class when, spotting a comfortable lead early in the second half, she substituted her younger players to give them playing time.
