Lady Netters split

by David Tesitor

FOWLER, ROCKY FORD- The John Mall Lady Panthers were in action last week, winning one and losing the other, to improve their record to 4-5.  On Tues. Sept. 22, the Cats traveled to Fowler to face the Grizzlies.  They fell in three games:  25-9, 25-18 and 25-14.  The JV and C teams also fell in two.

Last Thursday, the Ladies saw action again, this time against the Meloneers of Rocky Ford, and walked away with the victory.  The Cats defeated Rocky in four.  After dropping the first game 20 to 25, the Panthers came fighting back to win the next three: 25-20, 25-16 and 25-21.  However, the JV and C teams lost in three games.

Alexandra Tenorio and Katie Monahan continue to be strong on defense attacking and blocking the ball.  Brianna Crump and Nakita Vigil continue to serve the ball well.  The Panthers will enter league action and will be in Crowley County to face the Cougars tonight.  They will be in Swink on Saturday.  Both games are a must win for the Panthers to advance in the league standings.
