Joseph Aldretti

Joseph Anthony Aldretti, 74, of Walsenburg died Friday, February 2, 2018.

Joseph was born in Walsenburg on August 18, 1943 to Joseph J. and Mary Aldretti. He was raised in Huerfano County and was a rancher/ farmer, worked in construction and was a truck driver.

He was a Vietnam War veteran serving with the US Marine Corps, and was stationed in Camp Pendleton. He was also a member of the American Legion serving as commander.

After traveling the world, he retired in Huerfano County. His hobbies were, hunting, fishing, looking for arrow heads, prospecting, wood working, drawing and painting.

Joseph is survived by his children; Anthony (Krissie) Aldretti, their children, Anthony and Giovanni Aldretti; Joseph Aldretti and his children, Sidney and Colton Aldretti; ex-wife, Georgia Penaki (Gene Marsee); her son, Mario DiMatteo; his son, Dylan DiMatteo; sisters, Shirlyne Hanna, Linda Andreatta, and Elisha Meadows; brother, Emilio (Nancy) Andreatta; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. Aldretti and Mary (Ermer) Andreatta.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Boies-Ortega Memorial Chapel, 115 E. 5th. St., with Pastor Steve Vergo officiating. Burial will follow at the South St. Mary Cemetery with Military Rituals.
