Jacob Tenorio bids Farwell to State Tourney

By David Tesitor

Denver Co- The Pepsi Center- It’s over for John Mall Senior, Jacob Tenorio who almost posted a comeback victory to remain in a bid to place in his final competition but time was not on his side as the clock ran out as Tenorio began to controll Garrett Seewald of Merino in the last period. Trailing 5-1 after two, Tenorio escaped the hold of his opponent for the point, and then went to work. He then gained a takedown for two points and was trailing 5-3 with 1:30 remaining. Tenorio was warned for an illegal full nelson hold and the hold was broken. He then managed to go after his opponent and was riding Seewald on the back and almost able to turn him over for the near pin points, but time ran out. He is eliminated from the tournament. Tenorio fought to the very end, never giving up. He finished the season with a record of 26-18.
