HUERFANO — On Sunday September 11, 2016 the Huerfano County 4-H Council meeting was called to order by President Rachelle Andreatta. The American Pledge was led by Blake Bruce and the 4-H Pledge was led by Kaleb Andreatta. Old business discussed at the meeting was our County Fair which was held August 10-14, 2016 in La Veta, CO and how everyone did and how well fair went this year. Under new business we discussed the Dare To Be You Camp which will be help November 18-20, 2016 in Pueblo CO, and the Colorado Leadership Camp which will be help November 4-6, 2016 in Glenwood Springs CO. Also discussed was National 4-H week which will be the week of October 2-8, 2016 and this year’s theme is 4-H Grown. We will be holding our annual 4-H achievement banquet October 9, 2016 beginning at 5 pm at the 4-H barn in La Veta and this banquet is to recognize all the 4-H members and how wellthey did for the 2015-2015 4-H year. Also at our meeting we held election of officers for the new 4-H year. The newly elected officers for 2016-2017 Huerfano County 4-H Council are as follows: President: Rachelle Andreatta, Vice President: Kaleb Andreatta, Secretary: Brianna Ritchie, Treasurer: Skyla McConnell, Reporter: Kylee Faris, Jr. 4-H Senator: Shawn DeTray, Sr. 4-H Senator: Kaleb Andreatta, Adult Advisors: Michelle Andreatta, Lori Ritchie, Sherri Anselmo and Nickeya McConnell. Our next council meeting will be held October 9, 2016 in La Veta at the 4-H barn prior to our banquet.
