Hoehne FFA district leadership conference and district quiz bowl

by Madison Cummings,
Hoehne FFA reporter
HOEHNE — On Wednesday, February 7, the Hoehne FFA Chapter traveled to Pueblo County High School to attend the district leadership conference (DLC) and compete in the quiz bowl contest.  The DLC was put together by the district officers.  Allison D’Ercole, the vice president of the Hoehne FFA chapter, is the San Isabel District V President.  She, along with her fellow district officers, planned leadership workshop activities for FFA members from chapters in the district to participate in.  State officers Carina Ramos and Hadden Wilkins facilitated leadership and team building workshops for district members as well.
Along with DLC, the quiz bowl contest was also held at Pueblo County High School on Wednesday. The Hoehne FFA chapter quiz bowl team placed third in the competition.  Members of the quiz bowl team included Antonio Moltrer, Bob Walter, and Weston Hill.  The FFA quiz bowl is only for freshman FFA members.  Unfortunately, only one team is allowed to represent the district at the state competition, but we are very proud of their preparation and accomplishments and can’t wait to compete next year.
Members from the Hoehne FFA chapter who attended DLC included Jaylynn Tortorelli, Allison D’Ercole, Molly Felthager, Hunter Green, Conner Philpott, Xavier Chavez, Jerrod Painter, Kyle VanMatre, Grady Carroll, Dario Orozco, and Maiya Roybal.
