WALSENBURG- The Huerfano County Commissioners dealt with an important agenda item on Wednesday morning. Then they went into a closed executive session, to discuss salary and payroll matters regarding a county employee.
Mary Anderson made a request on behalf of the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, for use of the county community center in Walsenburg for the Huerfano County Health Fair this year. Since it is a county-wide event, and attendance has grown so much over the past years, they feel the need to expand into the community center for the one-day event. Last year, despite the cold and snow, they served over 400 Huerfano County residents, most of whom attend the fair each year to take advantage of the multitude of free health screenings they offer.
The commissioners waived the fee for use of the community center for the event. The Health and Wellness Fair will be held on Saturday, April 19th, 2008, at the Huerfano County Community Center.
