WALSENBURG- On 1/30/09, Warden Bob Kurtz promoted five correctional officers at the Huerfano County Correctional Center. Promoted to Assistant Shift Supervisor (Lieutenant) were Richard Gonzales (Walsenburg), Deborah Hurtado (Walsenburg) and William Garippa (Pueblo). Promoted to Senior Correctional Officer (Sergeant) were Jeremy Maucione (Walsenburg) and Larry Trujillo (Pueblo). Some of the duties for the new promotees will include scheduling, monitoring the various post assignments, conducting evaluations, and working closely with the other departments. Warden Kurtz expressed confidence in his new Lieutenants and Sergeants and said he looks forward to working with them in their new assignments.
