HUERFANO- Gas service for homes and businesses in Walsenburg and Aguilar have been shut off due to a gas main break 8 miles south of Walsenburg along I-25 Tuesday night.
City crews began shutting off all gas meters in both communities to depressurize the line first. That took up a large part of the day. The gas department then began repair of the line.
Once the gas line repairs are made and lines are re-pressurized then lighting all of the pilot lights to citizens and businesses must be accomplished. It is hoped that service will be restored by today (thursday).
