The final match of the evening saw La Veta′s James smalley get pinned at 40 seconds. Smalls will wrestle in the consolution quarter-finals tomorrow morning.  

After a fast-paced opening round, three Huerfano wrestlers are in the championship quarter finals and are just two wins away from claiming their championship. If they lose tomorrow morning, the road detours into third place bracket. Adam Ortivez had an impressive pin fall victory earlier this afternoon. He pinned Chance Peters in 42 seconds, one of the fastest of the afternoon. Adam will have a tough time against Cody Frye, a junior from Eads. Frye boasts an impressive 26-6 record and is looking for his first title himself. Frye defeated his opponent by pin fall in 3:19 seconds.

Clayton Archuleta will square off against Hayden Upland of Eads. Clayton Pinned his opponent, Jared Doll of Meeker in 3:18. Upland fought to a 9-8 decision is a grueling battle against Dalton Manni of Wiggins. The two should pair off about 10:30 tomorrow.

Nick Northup is the remaining athlete to have a chance of championship gold. He will have a tough time against Justin Guynes of Dove Creek who boasts a 33-6 record.

For the seven remaining athletes, they will wrestle in the quarterfinal consolution matches tomorrow. They all need to win in order to advance. A victory puts them onto the road to a possible third place match. From here on out they can not lose.
