We here at Gardner School have been doing many exciting things so far this year! Our first Open House will be on September 23, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. It will end at 6:30 p.m. at which time there will be a Huerfano Re-1 School Board meeting. At the Open House our pre-school will displaying their self-portraits and other art work. The kindergartners will show their parents theirs jobs and sitting places. The first and second graders will write poems and display them through one room school house frames; they will also be showing off their work and their hand sewed pillows they made at the beginning of this year. The third and fourth graders went on an exciting field trip to Mission Wolf for a writing project which will be displayed on their bulletin board. Our fifth and sixth grades will appreciate every one coming and visiting their room where they will show off their Mayan temple drawings and other Mayan art projects. The seventh and eighth grades are making dioramas based on a book they are reading called Bear Dance by Will Hobbs. Every classroom will have snacks, so we hope that you will attend our Open House and see the wonderful learning that is going on at Gardner School.
