Denver-The first round of the 2A state wrestling tournament is over and it was a tough time for the area athletes. Only Waylon Cordova of John Mall and Ron Ortivez of La Veta advanced into the championship quarterfinals. The remaining men lost their initial round AND MUST WIN TOMORROW IN ORDER TO STAY ALIVE. There will be two rounds tomorrow and for the athletes, their dreams of a state championship will be determined by 1 pm Friday. From here on out, you must win to place.
