Drug Sting

    An ongoing investigation of illegal drug sales in Huerfano County resulted in multiple arrests this last weekend. The sheriff’s department’s arrests took place over a two day period and the following people  were taken into custody for these alleged allegations: Paul Thompson for the  distribution of a schedule 2 substance; Roger Vigil for the  distribution of a schedule 2 substance; Marcus Martinez, for possession of a schedule 2 substance and introduction of contraband; and Laqun Murphy, for the  sale and the possession with intent to distribute.

     All of the parties arrested were from of Walsenburg with the exception of Marcus Martinez, who is from New Mexico.

    On Sunday, Corporal Rapo of the Huerfano County Sheriff’s Office was off duty and witnessed  an alleged drug deal in progress in a parking lot . He then called the Walsenburg Police Department and they arrested Clovis Vigil and Michael Ruiz both on alleged drug charges. Vigil and Ruiz are both from Walsenburg.

    All persons arrested were taken into custody. Thompson is on a $30,000 cash only bond; Murphy Martinez and C. Vigil are on $15,000 bonds;  R. Vigil is on a $50,000 bond and Ruiz is on a $45,000 bond.
