Pinon Canyon: Evening of Awareness
LA VETA- On Thurs. Mar. 20 there will be an event to inform the public about the Army’s plans to take an additional 415,000 acres of southeastern Colorado for expanding its live ammunition maneuver site. Presently the Army has 212,000 acres in Las Animas County; the expansion will affect both Las Animas and Huerfano Counties. All county governments in Southern Colorado have opposed the expansion – including Huerfano. Music will be provided by Willson & McKee and Brent and Babz.
The event takes place at The Parkside on Ryus Street in La Veta and starts at 7 pm. The presentations will occur at approximately 7:20 and 8:10. Everyone is invited to enjoy some music and become better informed about the Army’s plans which will affect the region for generations to come.
