WALSENBURG— The 19th annual Walsenburg Coal Minors Senior Classic golf tournament will be held on Sun. July 19 at the Walsenburg Golf Course. Open to all golfers male or female, 50 years and older, entrants must have a USGA or CGA established handicap at an recognized home course.
The tournament will be scored in the Point System, a modified Stableford Scoring format where over 18 holes net points are calculated on a gross point with net points added. Five points are awarded for a Double Eagle or Hole-In-One all the way down to zero points for a Double Bogey or greater. The winner in each of four flights will be the person with the highest score.
Flight pairings will be set Saturday evening, July 18 with a shotgun start on Sunday morning set for 8:30 am. There will be a dinner on Sunday following play, with the awarding of prizes. Entry forms are now available at the Walsenburg Golf Course clubhouse. Entry fee is $55 per person. Entry fees do not include golf carts which are optional and extra cost of $18 for two riders.
