Grant Writer/Special Projects Manager
DEPARTMENT: Colfax County Managers Office
REPORTS TO: County Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SALARY: $37,000.00 – $58,000.00
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing administrative/clerical duties, preparation of annual grant applications and processing, maintaining revenue and expenditure worksheets for all grants and special projects.  This position is performed under the general supervision of the County Manager who may provide assignments and instruction, determines objectives, priorities, and deadlines, and who assists the employee in unusual situations. The employee also uses own initiative and judgment to perform work in an independent and timely manner in accordance with precedents and established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities-Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Assists in the preparation of grant applications and processing & maintaining of grant documents.
• Maintains communication between the County and the grant entity, ensuring all proper documentation and information is given.
• Maintains revenue and expenditure worksheet for all grants and construction/special projects, using accounting procedures on all grants.
• Reconciles special grants and contracts, prepares requests for reimbursement, maintains grant files; prepares open agreements and reports monthly and /or quarterly grant status; prepares account receivable report of anticipated reimbursements and monthly grant revenue; completes annual grant applications and financials for County Departments.
• Responsible for working with all County Departments in preparing the County’s annual Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP).
• Must perform specific, basis departmental functions and must perform basic arithmetical computations as well as enter data in the computer system.
• Employees must become familiar with and understand the State Purchasing statutes and County Purchasing Policy, and all County and departmental policies pertinent to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices

• Experience in Grant Writing
• Accounting experience, preferably in government accounting.
