City of Walsenburg- surplus equipment sale

CITY OF WALSENBURG INVITATION FOR BID

The City of Walsenburg, hereinafter referred to, as the “City” will receive sealed bids up to the hour of 4:00 PM (MDT) March 26, 2008 at the City Clerk’s Office, 525 South Albert Street, Walsenburg, Colorado 81089, for the following: Project No. 08-001 Project Name: Disposal Sale of Surplus Items. The City offers for sale to the highest bidder, the materials listed below that have been determined to be surplus to the needs of the City. The surplus items will be available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM the week of March 17, 2008 by calling Clyde Vigil at 738-1048 Extension 28 to arrange for inspection. No fax or electronically delivered bids will be accepted. Any bids received after the time and date listed above will be returned.All surplus equipment contained in this bid will be sold on a “where is” and “as is” basis. Upon acceptance by the City of any bid, such bid shall be binding upon the bidder and the sale thereupon will be final. The successful bidder must remit cash, money order or cashier’s check, in the amount of the bid less deposit, plus the appropriate tax (if any), within five days after the award by the City. Immediate pick-up and possession can be made when payment is made to the City and the payment receipt is presented to the City Clerk.

INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS

Bidder must arrange loading and transportation at no cost to the City Sealed bids must be clearly marked with the above referenced Project No. and Name on the outside envelop. Only bids made out upon the attached bid form prepared by the City will be considered. All writing must be clearly readable and all bidder information on the final page must be filled out or the bid will not be accepted. The person signing the bid must initial any corrections on the bid. All bids must contain a deposit in the form of cashier’s check, money order or any other form a paper (not cash) that has a guaranty of being negotiable, in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount. If a bid is not accepted by the City the deposit will be returned in full.  In submitting the bid, the bidder agrees that acceptance of any or all parts of bid by the City constitutes a contract with the bidder and subjects the bidder to comply with all conditions of the Invitation to Bid and such compliance is required to complete the transaction of all awarded bids. If for any reason the bidder fails to complete the transaction on any awarded item, the bidder will be barred from future bids with the City. Bidders shall not stipulate in bids any conditions not contained in the specification unless specifically requested in special instructions. Any bid that fails to comply exactly with these instructions may be considered to be non-responsive. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids if the bids are deemed too low for the item being offered for sale.
