BREAKING NEWS SHOOTING AT JOHN MALL

WALSENBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE 03/14/12

On Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at approximately 1619 hours, Officers were dispatched to the John Mall High School Football Field, 200 County Road 590, for a report of a male with a gunshot wound to his leg. Law Enforcement from the Walsenburg Police Department, the Huerfano County Sheriff’s Department and the Colorado State Patrol responded.

Initial investigation indicates that the gun discharge was likely accidental in nature; however, investigation is ongoing.

The male, age 22, of Walsenburg was transported by ambulance to the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Care Center, where he was then taken to another hospital by Flight for Life. The condition of the male is unknown at this time.
