7-11 robbed at gunpoint

WALSENBURG- The 7-11 store at 235 W. 7th in Walsenburg was robbed at gunpoint Saturday  at 2:30 in the morning.  The clerk was unharmed as the assailant brandished his gun.  He made off with approximately $30 in cash.  Store manager Ed Martinez declined to comment on the case, and referred all calls to corporate headquarters for comment, who could not be reached before deadline.

As the robber demanded money the clerk allegedly pushed the silent alarm under the counter repeatedly, but it appeared not to be working.
