The scope of responsibility covers all transportation system issues, road and/or bridge construction, and/or repair activity at any location within Huerfano County at any time day or night 365 days a year.
Ten years of progressively more responsible supervisory/management experience in field design and operations, estimating and office management areas of public works heavy construction, maintenance, and repair to include construction and maintenance of asphalt and gravel roadways, earthen roadways,  and roadway drainage structures, roadside  drainage systems and earthwork,  production of aggregate  materials,  hauling and placing  of roadway construction  materials, and safe work zone practices. The South Central Council of Governments COVID-19 Relief program received Cares Act funding from the City of Walsenburg to be used to assist Walsenburg, Gardner, and La Veta Residents who have suffered financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.    COVID-9  Relief funds may assist with outstanding utilities, past due rent, and/or mortgage (interest only) payments.   These funds can only be used for expenses that are the direct result of COVID-19 during the time between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.   The South Central Council of Governments (SCCOG) and the City of Walsenburg understand the challenges faced by small non-profits in our communities of Walsenburg, Gardner, and La Veta as they try to provide services to our residents even during the time of the COVID-19.  The SCCOG – Walsenburg Coronavirus Relief Fund is designed to provide funding to address unforeseen financial needs and risks created by the COVID-19 public health emergency; that were incurred during the period that began on March 27, 2020 and ended on December 31, 2020.  The requirement that expenditures be incurred “due to” the public health emergency means that expenditures must be used for actions taken to respond to the public health emergency.   Revenue replacement is not a permissible use of Fund payments.  The CARES Act requires that payments be used only to cover costs that were not accounted for in the budget most recently approved as of March 27, 2020.
