4-H livestock sale results

LA VETA- The 4-H livestock sale is always a highlight of the Huerfano County Fair, and this year was no exception.

    The Grand Champion Beef was shown and sold by Jessica Uebler to Midwest Steel for $2,600.  Reserve Champion Beef was shown and sold by Rebecca Uebler to Bruce Cantrell for $1,800.  The floorplan on the beef was purchased by La Junta Livestock at 80 cents per pound.  The Grand Champion Swine was shown and sold by Olivia Cordova to Midwest Steel for $1,300.  Reserve Champion Swine was shown and sold by Aliyah Valerio to Petroglyph for $1,100.  The floorplan on the swine was purchased by Walsenburg Sand and Gravel at 50 cents per pound.  The Grand Champion Sheep was shown and sold by Kasie Wagenfehr to Bruce Cantrell for $1,600.  Reserve Champion Sheep was shown and sold by Katie Bershinsky to Midwest Steel for $1,000.  The Grand Champion Goat was shown and sold by Kaylee Corsentino to Rusler Implement for $600.  Reserve Champion Goat was shown and sold by Keelan McFall to the Huerfano County Buyers Club for $450.  The floorplan on the sheep and goats was purchased by Joe Petramala at 90 cents per pound.  The Grand Champion Poultry was sold by Megan Valdez to High Country Enterprises for $500.  Reserve Champion Poultry was sold by Steven Garcia to Sporleder Feeds for $200.  The Grand Champion Rabbit was sold by Samantha McCay to Craig Andreatta for $500.  Reserve Champion Rabbit was sold by Kyle Brooks to Midwest Steel for $600.

    All the 4-H students are to be commended for their hard work and commitment in seeing their projects through to completion.  Job well done.
